Delhi Coronavirus Hotspots: With adition of 5 areas including Shalimar Bagh, Trilokpuri and Jahangirpuri to the Delhi COVID-19 Containment Zone List, the total number of coronavirus hotspots within the national capital was revised hours after the Delhi Government negan random rapid testing in these hotspots. Using the rapid testing kits, Delhi Government is trying to identify the spread of the disease in the state, given that many asymptomatic patients also tested positive for novel coronavirus recently.

According to the list provided by the state government, west Delhi region in the worst hit due to coronavirus with over 14 hotspots being reported from there. On 21st April, Delhi Gvernment also recorded 35 new cases from Tilak Nagar and 30 in Tughlakabad Extension.

What is a Hotspot?

As per details provided by Delhi health Minister, any area where fresh Coronavirus case is found is declared as orange zone or buffer zone where aggressive monitoring and movement restriction is implementd. On similar lines, areas where more than three cases have surfaced have been reported are declared as red zone with complete restriction on movement except for authorized perdonnel. Earlier, the limit to decare an area red zone was identification of 10 positive cases of COVID-19.
